If you've set up your store on Shopify you might see discrepancies between the number of abandoned carts and the number of abandoned cart emails sent out by SmartrMail. Due to CAN-SPAM regulation and Shopify's Terms we can't send your abandoned cart emails to everyone. Below we have outlined who can receive abandoned cart emails and who can't.

Who Can Receive Abandoned Cart Emails:

  • Customers who have entered their email address during the checkout process

Who Can't Receive Abandoned Cart Emails:

  • Customers who have unsubscribed from your emails with SmartrMail 

  • Customers who have not entered their email address during the checkout process


Tip: Increase newsletter signups by having customers accept email marketing by default. They'll still be able to untick the box, but most won't.
