Brand kits on SmartrMail give you a place to set up consistent brand styling so we can tailor some of our popular templates to match your website. When you install the app we'll run some magic in the background ourselves to do this, but you might want to tweak the result.

Here's a full video walkthrough:

To get started, first go to the Brandkit page. You can access the BrandKit page on the left-hand side.

On the Main bran kit page, you will find that customizing your kit is broken down into three different tabs: Header, Body, and Footer.

When editing your kit, it's best to work through each of these tabs one by one.

Designing the Header Section of Your Brand Kit

The video below goes through the process of designing the header section of your style. You can also read the instructions beneath if you'd like.

View in browser

You can also add a view in browser link to the top of all your emails by switching the switch to on by clicking on it. View in browser link can be adjusted by adding the font, Background and alignment.

Adding this link allows your subscribers to view your email as a webpage in their web browser. This can be helpful if they're having trouble viewing your email in their inbox.

If you decide to add one, you will also be presented with options to customize the link's appearance.

Adding Your Logo

The first option is to include an image of your logo in your style's header. You can do this by clicking on the 'Choose file' button and selecting the image of the logo you'd like to use.

SmartrMail retains your logo's image resolution but resizes images to approximately 600px wide. For best results, upload a 600px width logo.

The following file formats are also supported: PNG, JPG, GIF.

  • Click the Choose file button

  • Upload a supported image file (.png, .jpg, .gif)

Logo Background Color

To access more options, just click on the downward arrow in the logo box.

If you want, you can customize the background around where your logo appears. You can do this by choosing a solid colour, or you can upload your own image.

Note that your logo leads to your store's main page by default. If you prefer to send it to a different page, change the URL in the link field

Header Links provide a useful pathway for your subscribers to browse certain sections of your site. You can add up to 6 header links in all your emails across SmartrMail.

To add your first link, click on the blue 'Add Link' button. Additional options for the link's font, size, and colour will then appear. You can continue to add the link by scrolling down to the empty text fields where you can add the link text and URL.

'Text' refers to the text of the link that will appear in your email (for example, 'T-Shirts'). 'URL' refers to the destination that the link will send people (for example, 'www.mystore.com/tshirts').

You can customize the appearance of these links by adjusting the following settings:

You can then add up to an additional 5 links to your header.

If after adding all your links you want to change or rearrange any, you can do so pencil and arrow icons respectively. You can also remove a link by clicking on the cross.

Adding a Custom HTML Header

If you have a custom HTML header you'd like to use, you can add it by clicking to turn on the toggle
