Emails built using SmartrMail's drag & drop composer are made up of different types of blocks. One of the possible types of blocks you can add to these emails is video blocks.

Video blocks allow you to easily add a YouTube or Vimeo video to your email by simply inserting the link. Follow the steps below to add a video to the email you're composing.

Step 1: Add the Video Block

In the email composer, click on the + Add New Section and then the 'Video' button in the second row on the right to add one to your email.

Step 2: Add a YouTube or Vimeo Link

Now that a blank video block has been added to your unfinished email, you simply need to add a link to the YouTube or Vimeo video you want to add. Add this link in the highlighted area below.

If you click on the drop-down arrow on the right, you will be able to edit the body of the block.

You can also add alt text to your video if you wish. This can potentially help people with low vision better understand what your email is about.

In the composer, the video will appear as a flat image. This image will be used as the fallback for subscribers who open your email in an email client that doesn't support video.

Subscribers who open your email in a client that does support embedded video will see the actual video, not the fallback image.

Note: At the moment, only YouTube and Vimeo videos are supported
