If you're moving your email marketing to SmartrMail from Klaviyo, this article will walk you through exporting your Klaviyo list as a CSV file and importing it into SmartrMail.

Step 1: Login to your Klaviyo account

To get started. You'll need to login to your Klaviyo account to access your list.

Step 2: Export your Klaviyo List

In Klaviyo, navigate to your Lists & Segments tab. Click into the list or segment of your choice; for example, a Newsletter list.

Select the Manage List dropdown and choose Export List to CSV.

Note: If you do not see this option, it means your role doesn't have the correct permissions to do so. Only Owner, Admin, and Analyst users can export lists and segments. To have your role changed, contact a team member with Admin or Owner-level permissions.

When exporting a list or segment, you can choose to export all properties associated with your contacts' profiles, or just specific ones.

After you start the export it may take some time to complete depending on the number of profiles and how many properties you've exported. You can wait for the export to complete and it will open a dialog to save to your computer.

To access all exports from the last 30 days, click into the account dropdown in the upper right of your page, and select Account > Downloads.

Step 3: Navigate to the Subscribers page in SmartrMail

To create a list or enter an existing one navigate to the Subscribers tab in your SmartrMail account.

Step 4: Create a List (optional)

To import your CSV from Klaviyo, you'll need to have a manually entered list in SmartrMail. You can enter an existing one, or create one with the steps below.

Note: You can have the same subscriber in multiple lists in SmartrMail. We only charge for unique subscribers, and you can always send to "All Subscribers" or multiple lists without sending any duplicate emails.

Under the Import More Subscribers header, add a list name and click the Create new list button.

Step 5: Upload your Klaviyo List

Click create and import Subscribers and then click the Upload CSV

Select the CSV you downloaded to your computer from Klaviyo.

You'll then need to choose which properties from your Klaviyo list you'd like to add to SmartrMail. You can match existing ones in the Custom field column. Next click the Import button.

You'll then be directed to a screen where you will see your list upload processing. Depending on how many subscribers and properties you're uploading this can take up to 30 minutes. You can navigate to any page in the meantime while your list uploads.

That's it! You've uploaded your list from Klaviyo in SmartrMail πŸŽ‰
